Scott Thomason of RevAir On The Five Things You Need To Shake Up Your Industry
My dad always said, “Give more than you get and be the person people can count on.” When you live your life in that way, you will always have people by your side.
As a part of our series about business leaders who are shaking things up in their industry, I had the pleasure of interviewing Scott Thomason.
Co-founded in 2018 by mechanical engineer, Scott Thomason, RevAir was born after Scott saw a gap in the hair tools space based on his experience as a father with styling his daughter’s hair. Scott was able to channel his background in product development, cosmetics manufacturing, and a degree in mechanical engineering to create the world’s first reverse air dryer designed to dry, stretch, smooth, and lengthen all hair types in less than half the time of traditional blow dryer / flat iron combinations. The award-winning patented technology dries hair in the natural direction of the cuticle to lock out frizz and seal in shine with low heat that promises a faster, easier, and healthier styling result.
Prior to co-founding RevAir, Scott co-founded and served as CEO of MT Industries, now Sunless, Inc., a cosmetics manufacturer and marketer specializing in spray tanning equipment whose brands include Mystic Tan, Norvell, and VersaSpa. Sunless Inc. was acquired in 2011 by a private equity firm. Prior to Sunless Inc., Scott was co-owner of Great Lakes Engineering and Design, an engineering consulting group, where he designed and developed new products for large companies including Little Tikes, Philips Medical Systems, and various automotive companies. Scott earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University.
