Tia holding the RevAir Reverse-Air Dryer for her My RevAir Journey hair story

My RevAir Journey: Tia

Five years ago, I wrote a blog post called *The Best of Both Worlds*, and it felt like I had finally cracked the code. Could I have healthy curls *and* the option to wear my hair straight? It felt like an answered prayer, and indeed it was.

Now, five years later, I can honestly say that the journey has been journeying! My love affair with my RevAir wasn’t just a fleeting moment destined to fizzle out over time. In fact, it was only the beginning of a whole new relationship with my hair.

So, in case you are wondering, yes, my RevAir and I are still going strong. Oh honey, we are LOCKED IN!

From Dreading Wash Day to Actually Enjoying It

If you knew me back then, you knew my hair, and I had a *très* complicated relationship. And by complicated, I mean we were not speaking half the time. We barely rocked with each other.

Doing my hair was something I had to deal with, not something I enjoyed. And wash day felt like a full-time job with overtime and no benefits. It was stressful, time-consuming, and the final results were underwhelming, to say the least.

Fast forward to today, and I actually enjoy doing my hair. I know, even I can’t believe that I just wrote that!

If you’ve ever spent hours detangling, blow-drying, and flat-ironing your hair, then you know that’s saying a lot.

What Five Years With RevAir Has Done for My Hair

When I first started using RevAir, I was amazed at how quickly I could dry and stretch my hair without frying it to hell and back. That alone felt revolutionary. But what I didn’t realize then was how much my hair would transform over time.

Five years later, RevFam, here’s what I’ve noticed: My curl pattern is fully preserved. I have officially said goodbye to heat damage, and my curls bounce back with ease. My hair is also stronger from roots to ends, and my scalp is THRIVING! No dryness, no irritation, and no stress.

Back then, I also talked about wanting the freedom to switch between curly and straight styles. And I meant it.

But what I didn’t realize was how much that freedom would impact how I express myself overall.

The Freedom to Wear My Hair However I Want

Because it’s never just hair, right? It’s identity. It’s aura. It’s confidence.

Some days I want big, full, textured curls.

And some days I want a sleek blowout from the gawds.

Other days, I just want to throw it all in a protective style and do absolutely nothing.

The point is, I can choose whatever I want without hesitation. I can play more and take risks because I know I can achieve whatever look I’m going for without sacrificing my hair’s health to get there.

Now that is real freedom.

My RevAir Routine Today

My routine these days is simple, flexible, and dare I say, fun.

I first start on clean, detangled, damp hair. I’ve been using RevAir’s Extreme Hydration Collection, formulated specifically for curly and coily hair, to make sure my strands are properly cleansed and moisturized before I even begin styling.

Then I use my RevAir to dry and stretch my hair and style as desired.

Let me tell you, RevAir is not playing games with their line of hair accessories! They recently dropped the Micro Edge Styler, an ultra-thin flat iron that gets up close and personal to smooth pesky frizz and flyaways.

It’s the perfect companion to the RevAir because, at the end of the day, it’s the little details that pull everything together.

That’s my routine. No exhaustion, frustration, or regrets.

Why RevAir Is Still in My Routine Five Years Later

After five years, you learn what’s worth keeping in your routine and what’s not. RevAir has stood the test of time.

Why, you ask? Well, it saves me time, it’s easy to use, it protects my hair health, and it gives me versatility without compromise. It’s not just a hair tool. It’s an integral part of how I maintain the healthy relationship I now have with my hair.

So, if you’re still on the fence, I will shoot it to you straight. Come on down off that fence. I’m being so for real.

If you’re tired of having to choose between healthy hair *or* versatile styling, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to. You can have both. And once you experience that, there’s no going back.

What I’d Tell the Version of Me From Five Years Ago

If I could go back in time and talk to the version of me hiding under baseball caps, trying to fix what I thought was “wrong” with my hair, I’d say this:

Your hair is not the problem. You just haven’t been given the right tools yet.

I’d tell her that her curls will come back and her hair will grow. And one day, she will love doing her hair instead of dreading it. She will be able to do whatever style her big imagination can dream up.

Because in the end, it all works out.

Five Years Later: Still Living in the Best of Both Worlds

Five years later, I can’t help but reflect on what this journey has meant to me beyond just hair.

The number five represents grace. And that is exactly what has been extended to me on this journey. Grace.

Today, I’m still living in the best of both worlds. But now, it means something deeper.

It’s not just about curly *or* straight. It’s about health and freedom.

Freedom of choice and of expression.

For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I must compromise. And that is a thing of beauty.
